Downtown arts center planning
4/27/2005
The Cultural Council of Luzerne County has worked for years to establish a dynamic non-profit community Arts center in Wilkes-Barre to promote the arts in Luzerne County. To achieve our goal, we have engaged a nationally recognized non-profit arts planning firm, Artspace of Minneapolis, to complete a market-based feasibility study and community forum on April 27th and 28th.
The Cultural Council has garnered the support and participation of the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, Greater Wilkes-Barre Chamber of Business and Industry, the Luzerne County higher education Council of Presidents, the Luzerne Foundation, officials of the city of Wilkes-Barre, county and state governments, and a host of local non-profit organizations, businesses and art patrons.
The Cultural Council’s vision and action plan will lead to the development of a vibrant and diversified community artscenter that will benefit and respond to the arts needs of all our county’s citizens and bring new energy and strength to the arts in our community.
Please keep these dates open so your voice and ideas can be heard. If we can provide any additional information or answer any questions please do not hesitate to contact us.
We’ll keep you updated on our progress on this exciting community supported project.
